Due to numerous Teamsheets not having been submitted (included in particular a Saturday night Pascoe Cup game) the results for Week 8 of the competition have not yet been posted on the website. Furthermore, due to there being many other issues to be dealt with this week they may not be posted until at least several days after they have been submitted.

The Wagga Football community is deeply saddened by the passing last Saturday of Sally Pizarro. Sally and her husband Patrick have supported and been actively involved in football in Wagga Wagga for many years and she will be sadly missed by her many friends and associates. We extend our sincere sympathy to Patrick and his family.

Sally's funeral will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 1:00pm on Wednesday 25th June.

Wagga United  were too strong for the struggling Lake Albert team this week with a convincing win 6 / 2. Goal Scorers for United A.Holmes, T.Alexander, B.Komi & 3 to R.Leonard.
 
Henwood Park once again kept to thier 5 goal average with a solid win against Tolland 5 / 1.
 
It was a tight clash at Mitchell Park between Cootamundra and Junee with the goals locked at one apiece for both teams after 90 minutes.

The following teamsheets for Juniors games on 21st June have not yet been submitted. Results for all games in these grades will not be posted until all teamsheets for that grade have been received. For games played in Wagga, the Home team is responsible for submitting teamsheets; for games played in Junee the Wagga team is responsible.

Week 6 of the Pascoe Cup Competition has seen a shift in ladder positions for a few teams.

Junee and Tolland finished with a 2 all draw,with goals scored for Tolland by A.Rudd & an own goal.Goals for Junee J.Mutimer & R.Jones.

The Blake Trophy game Tumut vs Lake Albert scheduled for Friday 27 June has been rescheduled to Thursday 26th June to avoid clashing with Higher School Certificate commitments.

The Nankivell Cup game to be played on Sun 15th June Lake Albert Sharks vs Gundagai will be played at RP1, not Uranquinty as previously advised.

Tim Wilson, FNSW Regional Manager - Riverina, has advised that due to lack of numbers (caused by some late pull outs) the Grassroots Training session scheduled for Wed 11th June at Gissing Oval has been cancelled. These coaches will have to attend the session on 25th June.

The Junior Vice President had a meeting with some of the FWW Committee Members tonight to review the Girls Competition. As the Pre-Season Competition has finished the following structure has been put in place to assist with the girls' development & viability of the competitions. Things that were taken into consideration included the players' ages, team numbers and players only playing girls competition on Saturdays.

There will be 2 groups: the Junior Girls Competition and the Senior Girls Competition, as described below:

The following Draws have been revised and are now available from the Competitions pages:

• Gardiner Shield Game 6 games 15th June 2:30pm: Henwood Park vs Cootamundra will now be played at RP3; Lake Albert vs Temora will now be played at Kessler Park
• Blake Trophy draw has been revised from Game 5 onwards. Byes in Games 1-4 have been erased and catch-up games scheduled so that all teams play 18 games.
• Leonard Cup/Madden Shield has had a number of games changed.
• Nankivell Cup Game 6 15th June Lake Albert vs Gundagai 12:30pm will now be played at Uranquinty Oval; Game 7: South Wagga vs Tolland Sat 21st June 3:00pm will now be played at RP3

Results, Ladders and Draws for Blake Trophy and All-Girls competitions (including games already played) will not be available until the revised draws have been completed and the FWW Executive has decided how to handle results for teams that have withdrawn from the competitions.

Week 5 has seen some exciting results for the first grade men's teams.

Cootamundra Strikers came away with the points against Tolland Wolves with a 3 - 1 win.

Wagga United played some great football in their match against Junee and had a convincing win of 4 - 0.

Henwood Park continued to display the talent their side contains in 2008 and walked away with a 4 - 0 win over Lake Albert.
