The Henwood Park Football Club, an affiliated club to Football Wagga Wagga, entered its Pascoe Cup team in the prestigious 2008 Football New South Wales Bill Cullinan Cup (State Cup) Competition.

Henwood Park played in the second round of this competition on Sunday 18th May 2008 against Quakers Hill Junior Soccer Club in Sydney. The result officially reported to Football Wagga Wagga was that Henwood Park defeated Quakers Hill by 3 goals to 2.

On Tuesday 20th May 2008, Henwood Park Football Club President Mr Rod Buik contacted Mr Larry Grant, Football New South Wales Community Competitions Manager, to advise that the result reported was false. The match had actually been won on the park by Quakers Hill defeating Henwood Park by 3 goals to 2.

Football New South Wales held a General Purposes Tribunal on Tuesday 27th May 2008 to investigate the matter. Findings of unsporting and unprofessional conduct, and bringing the game into disrepute have been made. Significant penalties have been imposed against individuals, the teams (as distinct from their parent club - both of which were found not guilty) and (in a state first) the match referee.

Due to Lake Albert withdrawing one team from the Blake Trophy competition this week the draw will need to be re-done. For the purposes of the draw Game 5 on 1st June will be recorded as shown below.

Henwood Park have been undefeated in the first three rounds of Pascoe Cup with a convincing win over Junee 5 - 0.

Goal Scorers for Henwood Park are Cameron Mavor 2, B. Fahnbulleh 1, Ben Mavor 1 and Kyle Doswell 1.

Henwood Park move onto the 4th Round of Football Wagga Wagga competition undefeated next week and second round of the state Cullinan Cup this week.

The annual Challenge Cup, between the Central Coast Mariners and Central Coast Lightning, will take place at Pluim Park, Lisarow (near Gosford NSW), "The Home of Central Coast Football" on Tuesday May 20.

Kick off at 7.30pm. Admission will be from 6.30pm.

Adults $5, Concession $2, Under 16's free, limited carparking inside Pluim Park is $5 per vehicle.

This is a family friendly event - NO ALCOHOL, GLASS or PETS to be brought into Pluim Park.
